Event Details
The Lied Public Library in Clarinda, Iowa is thrilled to welcome The Kringle Man on July 31st at 6:30 pm for the Culinary Club program featuring his unique Danish Baking products. The Kringle Man, a retired school teacher turned full-time baker, has been in business since 2015, but only started baking Kringle and Danish pastries in 2018.
With over 70 events a year in 8 different states, The Kringle Man's baking has become a hit with customers who appreciate the light and flaky pastry dough used in his creations. The recipes are a combination of Danish Grandmothers sharing with him, and searching old cookbooks and the internet to create the products that he markets.
Learn all about The Kringle Man's famous Danish pastries, including the Apple Kringle, Cream Horn, and Hot out of the Oven Danish Letter. All of the pastries are made with puff pastry dough for a light and flaky experience and are generously sprinkled with baker's sugar and topped with a variety of fillings, including Almond Paste, fruit flavors, and cream cheese icing.
The Kringle Man's newest creation, the Stroopwafel, is a thin waffle-like pastry filled with homemade caramel and is perfect for enjoying with a hot cup of coffee. Attendees can also learn more about the Danish concept of Hygge, which is about preserving happiness every day by slowing down, being humble, expressing gratitude, feeling safe, and connecting with loved ones. Event is free and open to everyone.
