The Lied Public Library in Clarinda, Iowa will host a presentation with Sheila Craig on Tuesday, June 27th at 6:30 PM.

“Remembering the Apron - A Nostalgic Look at the Apron.” with Sheila Craig

Take a nostalgic look at the apron plus the fabrics, styles and the many different ways they were used by the people from our past.

Presenter Sheila Craig is a grandmother with a collection of aprons. Her program, “Remembering the Apron,” takes a nostalgic look at the apron in an interactive, hands-on program (if you want – you can touch and feel the fabric!) The program will look at the fabrics and trims, the styles and uses of aprons. Don’t leave out the men, she has examples for them too.

You will have the opportunity to see about 100 of her 400-collection of aprons. What member of your family wore an apron? Was it for a special job, or around kitchen? Come and reminisce about your families’ connection to an apron!

Sheila is a retired University of Minnesota Extension educator from Preston, Minn., originally from Decorah. She has been doing ‘apron programs’ for almost 15 years for libraries, church groups, and care facilities. She is married; has two grown sons, their wives, and two grandsons.

Free event. No registration needed. Event will also be live-streamed via ZOOM.
