Program Description

Event Details

Sue Nothstine and Nancy Piercy, veteran teachers, and authors of Homeschool Tackle Box, will present a free interactive workshop for homeschool educators in Clarinda at the Clarinda Public Library, on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 6:30.

The workshop will show educators how to create personal learning profiles for their children so they will be able to teach the way each of their children learn. Workshop participants will be shown how to determine the personality type, love language, and student type of their children. These are only three of the many characteristics highlighted in the Homeschool Tackle Box book, accompanied by teaching strategies to apply to each child individually. Information will be shared on how to use this profile information in preparing and presenting lessons that will enhance learning and keep each of their children engaged and motivated.

Retired teachers, Sue Nothstine, national award-winning Science teacher, and Nancy Piercy, Language Arts teacher, and counselor, who enjoy sharing their love of teaching, recently published the book Homeschool Tackle Box, designed to help homeschool educators get to know their children as students and to become successful in the art and heart of teaching. They have also published an elementary and a secondary workbook for children who want to learn all about themselves. These books are now available on Amazon and at the above-mentioned workshop.
