Event Details

The Lied Public Library of Clarinda will host former New Market resident Tim Pratt at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday May 23rd. Pratt, who has recently published his memoir will talk about his book A Journey Blessed; My Life & Learnings. This is a story about a little boy, raised on a farm in southwestern Iowa, who dreamed of making something of himself, something different and maybe better. Yet, his dreams were constrained by his environment and nagging insecurities. He set out to do what he had been trained to do—work hard, overcome odds, lean on others, never give up—and he found himself climbing the ladder of success. He attended law school and joined a prestigious law firm, where he became a nationally-recognized trial attorney. He then became a business executive and general counsel for a prominent medical device manufacturer. This is a story about that little boy’s journey, but it is so much more. The book also contains insightful and personal stories about what he learned along the way on such topics as parenting, success, happiness, leadership, love, loss, grief, forgiveness, rural America, courage, youth athletics, ghosts, executive presence, faith, secularization, activism, narcissism, character, aging, and family.

This is a free event. Paperback copies of his book will be available for $5. Attend in-person or via Zoom.
