Event Details
Join us for an enlightening evening, on Monday April 21st at 5 PM with Bill Douglas, a dedicated student of history with a special focus on Iowa. Despite never having read a comprehensive account of the state’s religious history, Bill embarked on a remarkable journey to write one himself. The result is his acclaimed book, “The People Are Kind: A Religious History of Iowa,” published by Wipf and Stock and now available through major online booksellers.
Bill's unique background as the son of an electrical engineer turned Presbyterian missionary took him across the United States and even to Brazil. He completed high school at Tri-County of Thornburg and earned his undergraduate degree from Sterling College in Kansas before achieving a master’s degree in history from the University of Iowa.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear Bill Douglas share insights from his book and discuss the fascinating religious history of Iowa. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply curious about the cultural fabric of the state, this event promises to be both informative and inspiring.
